GX-Connects

“We build too many walls and not enough bridges.”

~ Sir Isaac Newton

Let’s face it.  People need People.  And no matter how technologically advanced we become; we are still human and, bottom line, our personal connections are as necessary as breathing.  Evidence-based research in the last 15 years suggests that relationships can be as much of a factor in good health as cholesterol, blood pressure and BMI.  Friends with Health Benefits is a successful, time-tested ingredient for living the good life.

What is Gx Connects?

Gx Connects brings people together for the simplest reason, it feels good.  Our goal is to have conversations, with as many people as possible, about our Gx Values (Gratitude. Compassion. Courage. Loyalty. Listening. Respect. Forgiveness. Helpfulness. Humor.  Creativity.)  Gx Connects is reaching out to people and organizations in our community: senior centers, schools, veterans, health and wellness facilities, basically, wherever you find people, you’ll find Gx Connects!  If you are interested in learning more or inviting one of our volunteers into your community please contact us at: sharing@oneworldheartproject.org

We believe that everyone can touch a heart by sharing a story and open a mind by listening with love.

  • Children who were allowed to speak with their mothers after a stressful event experienced a spike in oxytocin (a neurotransmitter that decreases stress response) compared to children who weren’t allowed to speak with the mothers.
  • Brain imaging studies have also revealed neurological differences between people who were alone and those who had support.
  • There is evidence that people who are involved in satisfying, long-term relationships fare better on a whole variety of health measures.
  • The key is to feel connected, respected and valued.

“In everyone’s life, at some time, our inner fire goes out.  It is burst into flame by an encounter with another human being.  We should be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.”
